Overview

The Triple Thud, otherwise known as the 3GL, is a pump-action grenade launcher issued out to units across the galaxy. Its main purpose is to provide fire support, however, troopers also find it useful for breaking up hordes of arachnids and temporarily sealing bug holes.

The 3GL offers an arsenal of grenades, from the 40mm HE, to specialized breaching rounds, to smokes, and even illumination rounds.

History

Before the introduction of the 3GL, the only light explosive capability troopers had access to were their underbarrel grenade launchers. To create a mid-point between this and the M55, Research and Development drew up an initial design for a standalone weapon which could provide a high rate of fire while matching the infantry’s requirement for mobility.
