When we collect your data

SSTRP.net collects your data through the forums or wiki when you setup an account, when you connect to our server, or when you join our Discord.

We collect the following pieces of information:

  • Your email address when you sign up via our forums (http://sstrp.net) or through this wiki (http://wiki.sstrp.net).
  • Your Steam ID and IP address when you connect to our Garry's Mod servers.
    • From publicly held information about your IP address, we also are able to vaguely determine where in the world you are accessing our services from.
  • Details about your character when you create them on our Garry's Mod server.
  • Details about the performance of your game and computer when you join and play on our Garry's Mod server.

How we use your information

We use data in the following ways:

  • For authenticating you when you use our services.
  • For detecting and preventing activities that violates our rules.
  • For informing our policies, allocating resources, and bettering our services.

Where your data is held and for how long

Your data is held in Germany. We hold your personally identifiable information (in particular your email address and your IP address) for eighteen months from the last time you logged in to one of our services. We hold the remainder of your data indefinitely however can delete this on request.

We keep our data retention periods under review and will update this section should we make changes.

Accessing your information

You have a right to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is sometimes known as a ‘full access request’. If you would like to make a request to access the personal data we hold about you, please send a £10 fee and a written request to admin@sstrp.net.

SSTRP.net complies with the UK Data Protection Act 2018. It is the data controller of any personal data collected on this website. We will process any data which you provide to us when using this website in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
