Patient suffered a laceration across the arm from a Warrior talon. The laceration was 16 centimetres in length across the length of the right forearm, and approximately 1.27cm deep.

Treatment Initial treatment consisted of haemorrhagic control which was sufficient in the field.

Further treatment administered following return to forward operating base. The patient's wound was cleaned and debrided. Local anaesthetic applied around the laceration and subsequently stitched using the standard method. Patient reported tolerable levels of pain. No damage noted to bone and near-full functionality of arm noted.

NSAIDs and antibiotics prescribed to a) reduce inflammation/swelling and b) prevent infection.
